The conversation is part of Coastal Enterprises Inc.’s annual meeting, “From Civil Rights to Sustainable Solutions”. Ms. Andrews and Mr. Walker will discuss the Ford Foundation’s role in launching the community development sector and the foundation’s powerful new vision to tackle inequality.

Every Tuesday, more than half the residents of the California Hotel – an affordable housing building in West Oakland – come to the lobby to have their blood pressure taken. They are part of a unique program spearheaded by and its partners track residents with or at-risk of high blood pressure, and connect them to the supportive services they need to stay healthy.
